The skogsra are beautiful forest spirits living in the skandinavian woods in a nordic folklore. These irresistible creatures are best known for leading men astray deep into the woods with their seductive yet innocent beauty. They look like a women from the front but their backs are just a hollow tree trunk. Often they also have a tail. They combs or play with their long hair and make the poor fellas follow them deep into the woods. Once there they turn their back on them and the men find themselfes alone and lost and many will never find their way back home again..
This was the story that inspired us for this fashion shoot. We shot this at the coolest location in Abney park cemetery in east London. The cemetery is old and gravestones are in many places put on top of each other in a mess and the graves are surrounded by trees and bushes. There was also an old ruined building in the middle of the park we used for one set of images.
We were lucky with the weather. It was a bit chilly but the rain stayed away even though it looked like it was gonna come down on us a few times. I worked with a team I have done a shoot with before and it is always great fun to do so.
Big thanks to the friendly staff and especially the duty manager Sue at the Sunstone health & Leisure centre in Stoke Newington for lending us their changing room to get ready when our planned location failed. Through their kindness and quick respond we could make the models ready for the first shot comfortable inside. Sunstone is a massive 5 floor women only facility with lots of different activities to promote health , fitness and wellbeing of women.
Both models have Monofibre hair extensions from the very stylish and charming Three V hair saloon in Notting Hill headed by Julien Guyonnet and Nacho Varela. They just launched their new website and have great offers to celebrate – see below, so make sure you check out their site and sign up for the news letter.
This last location are some kind of massive resting place for someone important I would imagine. It felt like a sacrificing spot and suited our last much bolder look.
